Technical Product Manager
I started web development in 1999 building eCommerce websites in Perl, then quickly transitioned into Java. I moved into finance around 2005, and spent the next decade moving around various banks writing trading software in Glasgow, London, Singapore & Tokyo. In 2015 I'd had enough of all the traveling and decided to try and settle down back at home in the North-West. I had a brief stint in retail building a cloud native warehouse management system.
After becoming disillusioned with all these firms' approaches to software engineering I wanted to join an organization which truly held agile development principles at its core, with a mission statement that I could fully get behind. I joined PortSwigger in April 2017 and have been happy here ever since.
The people, the culture, and having the opportunity to work on an awesome product.
The release of browser powered scanning. Many man years of effort have gone into this feature and it gives us an amazing platform to build on into the future.
I loved playing with electronics. When I was about 11 years old I got my first Amiga - I quickly got bored of all the games and picked up the GFA BASIC. The rest, as they say, is history.
