I started working for my family's business after school, just to keep me busy while I figured out what I wanted to do with my life - I ended up working there for nineteen years! I met my husband, and we took the decision to move to the United Kingdom from South Africa.

Whilst I was working on my degree, which I eventually completed, I took on volunteer work at my children's school. I enjoyed this work so much that this led me to a Learning Mentor role, where I was working with vulnerable children from 4-11 years old. This role, which I held for ten years, was incredibly rewarding, but at the same time extremely emotionally taxing. I eventually got the job of my dreams working as a Customer Champion at PortSwigger. I am now able to help people, albeit in a slightly different way, but in a much more rewarding and stress-free environment. I have worked for PortSwigger for two years now and I love it.

If you could have lunch with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?

Nelson Mandela - just imagine the things we'd be able to talk about! And I bet he'd have the most incredible advice to share.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was growing up, my absolute dream was to become a Pharmacist. I couldn't tell you exactly why that was my goal, but I guess there's always been something in my nature that inclines me toward helping others, in one way or another.

What would your superhero power be and why?

It's not exactly a superpower, more of a super powerful object, but I would love to have a Crystal ball. I ask so many questions and this way, l would already have the answers!
