Director of Engineering
After completing a degree in Computer Science in 1988, I started my career as a software developer. I realized after a few years of fighting with development tools that writing software was not for me so made a move into project management. For a large part of my career, I worked for a software company that I set up with my family which specialized in EDI. Here I learned everything about developing and delivering software products with direct responsibility for the company's product development teams. In this role I combined project management and business analysis to ensure I kept close to the development of the products. I also learnt about running and building a small business.
I joined PortSwigger in the middle of 2018 as the Technical Product Manager for the Burp Suite Enterprise Edition product. I found this role a perfect match to my career so far as it combined the project management and business analysis skills I have developed, as well as my love for product development.
The day we hit 1,000 agent sales on Burp Suite Enterprise Edition.
It's like working with family, everyone working together towards the same goal.
A normal day for me involves advising, supporting, and answering questions, to make sure people around me can do their jobs to the best of their ability.
If I could choose anything, I'd love to be able to be in two places at once. I have so much that I want to do!
